Women’s Hoops hits the road this weekend to battle a 12-5 Michigan team before hosting the undefeated No. 1 UCLA Bruins later next week:

• Michigan guard Olivia Olson has upped her scoring average to 17 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting

• The freshman ranks 11th in the league in scoring in conference games and is the highest-scoring rookie

• The Wolverines are the only team across the nation to have two freshmen averaging at least 15 points per game

• Olson (16.0 ppg) ranks seventh nationally in scoring by a freshman and Syla Swords (15.1 ppg) comes in at No. 12

• This season the No. 1-ranked Bruins team are off to the best start to a season following win #17 against Penn State, 83-67

• 6-7 junior Lauren Betts secured her tenth double-double of the 2024-25 season, recording a game-high 22 points, 12 rebounds, and a career-high seven blocks

• Last week, Betts made John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 List and Student Athlete of the Week

RU Men’s Basketball team prepares to meet Penn State for a Monday night showdown on the road.

• The Nittany Lions dropped their most recent contest against Michigan State, 90-85

• Penn State shot 65.2 % from the field as star guard Alec Baldwin Jr. posted 20 points and nine assists while teammate D’Marco Dunn followed behind with a career-high 18 points

• Despite the loss, Penn State has now scored 80-plus points in 12 of its 16 games this season and Dunn tallied his fifth double-digit scoring performance since Dec. 14
