Settle in for some action on the mat. We’ve got a few things to keep in mind before the season really gets underway today 👇
Rutgers comes in ranked No. 15 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association’s Top 25 rankings
At No. 15, the Scarlet Knights join nine other Big Ten schools in the rankings, five of which in the top ten (No. 1 Iowa, No. 2 Penn State, No. 6 Michigan, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 9 Nebraska)
Alum Sebastian Rivera earned a silver medal and a bid to the 2023 World Championships last September
RU’s schedule features seven ranked opponents in the preseason top 25 with a stretch of five-straight ranked, conference matches from Jan. 21-Feb. 16
The Scarlet Knights begin the 2023-24 campaign on Friday with a doubleheader in San Luis Obispo, California with Cal Poly and Duke; a date with No. 5 Virginia Tech in Piscataway comes next on Nov. 17
